What does it mean to work with WA-YA?

Wa-Ya Outdoor School aims to educate today’s youth in a unique and interactive way. Our curriculum is STEM based with indigenous teachings and art interwoven. Natural sciences and environmental stewardship is heavily emphasized.

Lead Instructor

The Lead Instructor is responsible for executing the curriculum, leading outdoor activities, and teaching lessons for a group of 8 students. They will work alongside three other staff members. This position is full time at 40hr/week and 15$/hr. A Bachelor’s Degree or higher is required. A standard instructor’s position is similar to lead with fewer responsibilities, and a high school diploma or higher is required.

COunselor

The counselor holds the primary supportive role within the camp. They will aid students during activities, supervise games and aid the instructors.
