200.00

The Evergreen State is home to diverse and complex and diverse ecological and human systems. Humans have long thrived along the shores of the Puget Sound and we are now learning how to better care for the estuaries, forests, and prairies so that they can be sustained for future generations. During Week 1, campers will learn about key conservation challenges in the Puget Sound and what people are doing to address them. They will get to see and contribute hands-on to an estuary restoration project and learn about the special and rare South Puget Sound Prairies. We will learn about both traditional and emerging land management from a range of perspectives and be exposed to different volunteer and community engagement opportunities. Campers will create art demonstrating the connections between forests, prairies, and estuaries.
